Many residents and local groups are excited and ready to jump into Fund-raising mode for the new Fire Hall.
Volunteer fire-fighters brought specs and images of the proposed new fire hall to the Carseland & District Community Association & Agricultural Society’s AGM.
Some residents had concerns about the new hall being located on the south side of the tracks, rest assured that this will not become an issue for providing services. Detailed research has gone into the proposed project and with 3 different crossings with in the area a long train will not cause delays as train lengths are limited to 2 miles and one of the 3 crossings will always be open.
Many of the layout and new hall features will also increase response time and hall usability and drastically increase work load efficiency all around.
I hope we can all make an effort to assist this wonderful project by helping to share this information, make donations and encourage fundraising efforts towards reaching this goal.
Wheatland County has offered to grant 60% of the funds needed, leaving community members and groups to raise a minimum of $400,000, which may or may not include the sale of the old Fire Hall.
The Association has agreed to start assisting in fund-raising efforts by offering up all concession proceeds from the Christmas Market this weekend December 4th – 5th 2015.
More information will follow with fund-raising committee contacts, how to support the team and where to donate.
